Innovation is of key importance at SIAL Paris – and nowhere is this more the case than at the SIAL Start-up Village, which is run in partnership with Sesamers.

Present in 24 countries, Sesamers is a global network of tech events that was launched in 2015 by specialists in innovation and business events.

“With 10 years of experience, we help innovative businesses to shine on stage, build better events and scale their influence strategy,” the network, also known as Start-up Sesame, says.

Sesamers has, it states, “launched and co-produced international conferences and startup competitions that gathered millions of visitors, thousands of startups and hundreds of high-profile speakers”. “Our media is focused on delivering exclusive behind the scenes content, featuring upcoming event profiles, expert interviews, industry deep dives and a wide range of podcast episodes,” the network adds.

In association with SIAL Paris, Sesamers offers what it describes as “an exclusive startup package” for first-time exhibitors. “As a first-time exhibitor, this is your moment to shine,” the organisation states. “Our startup package is more than just a booth; it’s a golden opportunity to make waves in the industry, connect with like-minded innovators and showcase your brilliance on a global platform. “What makes this collaboration so exciting is our shared commitment to supporting start-ups like yours, injecting a dose of energy and innovation into the food and beverage scene.”

As Sesamers says, exhibiting at SIAL Paris offers start-up businesses the chance to demonstrate what they have to offer in “prime exhibition space that ensures all eyes are on you”.

This is, the organisation states, “complemented by targeted marketing initiatives that propel your start-up into the spotlight”. “We’re not just offering a package; we’re offering an experience designed to amplify your presence and leave a lasting impact,” Sesamers says.

The organisation offers to tailor its packages to exhibitors by understanding the particular story, aims and aspirations of each start-up business so that it can “tailor the package to fit seamlessly into your journey”. “This isn’t just about joining a massive crowd of 7,000 exhibitors or welcoming 300,000 visitors – it’s about making your start-up stand out in the best possible way,” Sesamers says.

Organised by Comexposium, SIAL Paris is the ideal format for food and beverage industry start-ups – and companies in the sector of all sizes – to showcase what they have to offer.

Among the features this year is SIAL Pitch, which offers start-ups the opportunity to pitch their projects on the SIAL Pitch stage within the SIAL Start-up area. SIAL Pitch means that ambitious start-ups can “attract the attention of investors, boost their activity and convince [those attending SIAL Paris] of their potential growth”.

It is regarded as an essential event in the calendar for those who work in the retail, catering, manufacturing or import trades. For buyers in the food service industry, retailers, international importers or food processing professionals, SIAL Paris is regarded as the essential event of the year. It will take place this year from 19 to 23 October at Paris Nord Villepinte.

No fewer than 400,000 food products will be on display when 7,000 exhibitors from countries display their wares in Paris. “Meet and chat with the best international suppliers, stand out from your competitors with your chosen products, and negotiate your prices in person,” SIAL Paris says.

The SIAL Innovation Start-up Award is granted to the most innovative product proposed by a start-up registered with SIAL Paris.

The Concept Award is new and is reserved for the early stage, meaning a product not finalised in test to launch phase. This award rewards a company and/or an idea for the interest and potential of the process/innovation it is trying to develop.

SIAL Paris is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, as the first event was held in 1964, when it drew in attendees from 26 countries.

Reflecting the event’s huge growth over the decades, exhibitors and visitors from more than 200 nations are set to attend SIAL Paris this year, almost eight times as many as during the first show.
